Thomas J. Ivers, Norwalk Housing Authority

In 1979, Mr. Ivers began his career in Housing & Community Development with the Connecticut Housing Investment Fund as an Energy Specialist. He later became the Director of Housing and Energy Assistance with the Meriden Community Action Agency. Returning to Norwalk in 1986 he became the Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Norwalk, Inc. He also served as a Vice President with Action Housing and Treasurer with Fairfield County Mutual Housing.

From 2001-2014, Mr. Ivers was the Community Development Coordinator and Fair Housing Officer for the City of Milford. Since 2014 he has been Director of the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative for the Norwalk Housing Authority implementing the Washington Village/ South Norwalk Transformation Plan.

Born in Norwalk, Mr. Ivers completed his undergraduate study at Ithaca College receiving a BA in Psychology. Graduate studies were continued at Cornell University in Design and Environmental Analysis and in Public Policy at Trinity College in Hartford. He presently lives in Milford, CT.
