Marian Whiteman, General Electric Company

Marian Whiteman is Executive Counsel–Brownfields for General Electric Company, managing GE’s brownfields program to revitalize former industrial assets. On behalf of GE, Marian has overseen the preparation and sale of over 400 industrial sites worth more than $1.0B. Previously, she was VP-EHS for IMC Global Inc., where she oversaw the global EHS program and directed IMC’s brownfields subsidiary. Before that, Ms. Whiteman was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago; an attorney-advisor for the Office of Legal Counsel, US DOJ; and a law clerk for the Hon. Edith H. Jones, US Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit. She received her JD, honors, from University of Chicago and her BS, summa cum laude, in chemistry from Loyola University of Chicago.
