This panel discussion will focus on the Steele Center at Farmington Avenue in Berlin, Connecticut, for a project aimed at “Creating a Town Center.” The project involves the transformation of the brownfields site into multi-building redevelopment project with TOD links with a new boulevard to a newly constructed train station. Beginning before the COVID pandemic, the project highlights the need to be flexible, make use of all available funding sources, and private-public partnerships to overcome the challenges associated with Brownfields redevelopment.
