Andrew Bernstein, Kearsarge Energy

Andrew Bernstein founded Kearsarge in 2009 to meet accelerating demand for renewable energy critical to US economic growth. Capitalizing on investment opportunities in wind, hydro, solar, and energy storage, Kearsarge delivers strong returns to both its investors and the environment.

Currently, the company develops, owns, and operates solar facilities, with new business focused on transactions ranging from $3 to $50 million. Kearsarge Energy is one of the largest and well-respected Solar Developers in the Northeast with $450 million in recently completed projects including the first solar and storage facility in National Grid Massachusetts as well as numerous other solar and storage facilities.

Andrew has over 35 years of experience managing a broad range of organizations and divisions from large publicly traded corporations to early stage high technology enterprises in AI and speech recognition, with two successful exits. Having lived in Boston, New York, London and Hong Kong, he has a broad range of technology, finance and global management experience. With a deep track record in project finance, Andrew has consulted on energy development for more than 18 years.

Andrew has lectured and authored numerous articles on marketing, business strategy and more recently, on the business challenges of mid-sized IPPs for a wide range of publications and conferences, including cover stories in Fortune, Knowledge Management and Media Magazine.
Andrew received his bachelor’s degree (AB) from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard University. In addition to Kearsarge, he currently serves on several nonprofit boards.
