Climate sustainability and resiliency will be defined to explain their connection and individuality. The value of sustainability shall be explored through an explanation of Vermont’s Global Warming Solutions Act’s goals to foster innovation and resilience by requiring climate solutions. Resiliency innovation and sustainability concerns in New Jersey brownfield redevelopment project planning will be explored from an industry perspective. New Jersey’s 2020 Global Warming Response Act requires a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 80% from their 2006 levels by 2050. New Jersey’s S232 Environmental Justice Law (EJ Law), addresses the environmental justice protection of vulnerable communities against the effects of climate change and pollutants. A roundtable discussion will address innovative ideas to implement socially responsible approaches that will assist in guiding sustainability and resiliency initiatives toward fruition within the environmental industry.
