Joanne Fagan has worked with MassDEP for over 30 years as an environmental engineer in the field of waste site cleanup. She currently serves as Section Chief for the Brownfields & Risk Reduction group at MassDEP’s Northeast Regional Office. A primary focus of her work has been providing technical and regulatory assistance to project stakeholders to resolve challenging issues related to site characterization and remediation, liability, and risk mitigation. Guidance is provided on available state & federal incentives to promote the remediation and redevelopment of Brownfields, while working in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), MassDevelopment, the Attorney General’s Office, municipalities, and local citizens. Joanne holds a BS and MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from UMASS Lowell
